I found this post on Facebook, while doing my daily scroll entitled the 7 Cardinal Rules of Life. I thought it had some really good basic principles to keep in mind…
Rule One: Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up your present.
How many times do we allow past situations, past people in our lives, and past struggles, to rear their ugly head in our future, allowing them to divert our attention? TOO MANY. The past is the past, we can’t change, all we can do is walk boldly into our future and live in the present
Rule Two: What others think of you is none of your business…
I will admit, I struggle with this because I want “everyone to like me”…I want us all to get along, but that’s not realistic… At least 10% of people will not like you no matter what (that is a statistical fact)…We need to
not care about those who don’t like us, but hold on to the 90% who do.
Rule Three: Time heals almost everything, give it time.
Patience is a virtue…
Rule Four: Don’t compare your life to others, and don’t judge others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
This rule targets us judging others, but I would say on the flip side, also don’t compare what someone has more than you either. As the last statement says you never know what their journey is all about…God gives us different lots, different talents, based on our ability to manage such things… Take your lot and talents and be thankful.
Rule Five: Stop thinking too much it’s alright to not know the answers. They will come to you when you least expect it.
How true this is! I am so over analytical, it gets on my nerves sometimes (lol). We will never know everything, we are not supposed to. Sometimes we are just supposed to trust in God’s will and when he’s ready he will let us know the answer.
Rule Six: No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.
Don’t let others dictate how you live your life, how often you smile, how joyful you are. These are all your decisions. Take control of your happiness!!
Lastly…
Rule Seven: Smile!!! ou don’t own all the problems in this world.
