What does it mean to live on purpose?
I’ve been blog hopping recently, and found that many people have been exploring what they believe living on purpose is. I have heard this saying a lot in media, in the spiritual aspect, in the community/non-profit sector…and I believe that it has a huge connection to my mission to DREAM OUT LOUD!!!
As Poesy Poodle, a fellow blogger stated, “I am convinced 'my purpose' was not to be birthed into this world "drawing the breath of life" to simply muddle through life with no consciousness... offering nothing And giving nothing back... taking withdrawals And leaving no deposit...”…
Tis true Poesy…God has a designed life for each of us…He didn’t create us to just mosey throughout life.
God has given us all talents, which is stated in Matthew 25:14-28. He expects for us to use our God given
talents to glorify him…
So how do we practically apply living on purpose? Here are a couple of ways to begin living on purpose.
1. Identify your talents. I remember starting here and realizing that God has blessed me with multiple talents. I love to talk, I love to counsel people, I love to motivate people, I love fashion, I love being a leader…and for these I am a counselor/life coach/owner of an online boutique/speaker…
2. Set goals to utilize your talents. I am learning that you not only set big goals, but set smaller, more accomplishing goals in order to step into your BIG goal…SO today I am blogging to reach a group of potential clientele for my business. I am also putting my new inventory on my instagram page to generate sales leads for my company, pink pearl couture to accomplishing my BIG goals, to run a profitable online boutique and life coaching practice.
3. Make things Happen. Don’t just sit around and stare at your goals on the wall, make them happen. Learn not only to dream but accomplish. I want to be a speaker, so I connect with people who hold the speaking opportunities in their hand.
4. Don’t allow fear to stop you. The person who wants something more than they fear it’s outcomes are typically the people who accomplish the things they want. Refer to my first post to learn more about overcoming fear here!
5. Change bad habits. Joyce Meyers is doing a series now for her new book, changing bad habits.
This is imperative for living on purpose, because naturally we’ve talked ourselves out of doing things over and over. We have learned to be fearful and to not walk into our destiny. This is a trick of the enemy folks…keep pressing forward
6. Lastly stay positive, stay consistent, and stay thankful. These three things will keep you focused and keep your priorities in line…
What are your talents? What is God calling for you to do? How can you live on purpose?
Until next time Anticipate,Self-Assure, Persist, Inspire, Reach, Evolve HIGHER!
